Logo / Si83
You're probably wondering: why, in today's age of modern branding, am I only showcasing a logo?
Wouldn't it make sense to feature a fully developed brand identity? Isn't a logo practically irrelevant now, according to the 10,000+ articles tracking the "brand vs. logo" debate?
I like to consider myself an innovator…and in some cases, a complete rebel. But I also recognize when a foundation is solid.
While I completely understand the sentiment of my fellow branders, designers, and strategists (I, too, thought this once I came to understand identity as a necessity), I cannot overlook an unbreakable fact: we pay attention to the intricacies of our craft way more than the average consumer does.
A consumer's first introduction to a brand, and their recognition thereafter, is ultimately the logo.
Which is why a greater part of the identity creation process is unlocked when developing it.
So here is the process behind one of my favorite logos. I designed this mark with incredibly clever intention for a brand called Si83, launching November 2026.
Si83 is a wellness brand completely leaning into it's rest as a process ethos. Founded by Sionna Bismuth (remember her name, it's super important), an LA-based Digital Campaign Manager dedicated to finding ways to make her sleep routine more effective.
Prior to the ideation process, the brand was purely a concept. No name. Just a founder, her purpose and her vision. Because Sionna and her brand are intrinsically linked, I wanted the foundation of the identity to be a physical embodiment of founder + brand.
